Jennifer is greatly interested in the area of public affairs as well as media and communications, having obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in International Relations and Commerce. During her time at UBC, she completed an internship with the Consulate General of Canada in Guangzhou, China, where she conducted research on matters of bilateral interest including governance and trade policy. She also helped plan major events including high-level visits from both provincial and federal government ministers. 

After graduation, Jennifer acquired experience in the non-profit sector through her work at the Richmond Chamber of Commerce. For over 2 years she helped support outreach to stakeholders, Chamber members and the three levels of government. In this position she also exercised her language skills and gained a unique cultural competence in the process of serving the diverse members of the community at large.  

Besides English, Jennifer also speaks Cantonese, Mandarin, Japanese, and some Korean.
