Janet brings a rare blend of frontline experience, strategic insight, and future-focused thinking to everything she does. With more than 20 years of work across the public and private sectors, she has led communications strategies for some of B.C.’s most complex policy and service initiatives, always with a clear focus on aligning organizations with the people they serve.
Her career includes senior communications roles with ministries such as Finance, Emergency Management, Labour, Housing, and Social Development, where she provided trusted counsel to Deputy Ministers, Cabinet, and executive leadership. She has led province-wide public consultations, major public safety and accessibility campaigns, and strategic communications during natural disasters, public inquests, and large-scale policy and service realignments.
Janet’s work is grounded in real-world impact and shaped by a wide-ranging professional lens. Early in her career, she was a public affairs television producer and a member of the BC Legislative Press Gallery. Later, as Government Relations Manager at BC Hydro, she worked at the intersection of infrastructure, stakeholder engagement, and corporate reputation, supporting high-profile energy initiatives and consultation strategies across the province.
In recent years, Janet has led a successful consulting practice, advising clients ranging from emerging AI startups and clinical counselling services to post-secondary institutions and provincial advocacy organizations.
Janet holds two Master’s degrees, one in Leadership and Organizational Development and another in Media Psychology, giving her a unique ability to bridge strategic vision with human insight. She brings depth, clarity, and purpose to her work, helping organizations communicate with confidence, and achieve meaningful results.
