Evan Rees-Wiedemann

Evan is driven by a passion for writing, public service and creative problem solving. A Master of Management graduate from UBC’s Sauder School of Business with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, he combines business acumen with his understanding of provincial and federal politics to offer integrated thinking across sectors.

Prior to joining Coast Comms, Evan was a student business consultant for Brooklyn Industries Canada, an editorial assistant with UBC’s alumni magazine and an award-winning editor with UBC’s Journal of Political Studies. He has also led communications for Amnesty International UBC and contributed to major digital and print campaigns targeting alumni, students and community stakeholders.

With experience in business, media, human rights and public policy, he’s especially drawn to projects that sit at the intersection of these fields — where he can contribute meaningfully, think critically and collaborate creatively. He brings a thoughtful approach grounded in clarity and purpose to every project.

Outside of work, Evan is passionate about arts, culture and sports. You’ll often find him writing or talking about film, music, or books — or playing soccer, basketball, running and skiing around beautiful B.C.
