The estimated starting base salary for the role is between $50,000 to $55,000.

The Position
We are seeking an Admin and PR Coordinator to support our growing list of clients and contribute to both administrative operations and communications work. While this is an entry-level role, it is pivotal to the team’s execution of high-impact PR strategies for our clients.
This role offers exposure to high-level strategic planning and the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals. You will also help shape our team culture through team-building events and social activities. This role also plays a key role in developing Coast Comms’ social media and newsletter content.

Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support (High-Level Executive Admin Duties)
- Calendar management for Owner and VP, Strategy and Operations
- Coordinate travel and accommodations for team members
- Ensure the office is client-ready at all times (tidiness, supplies, cleaner coordination)
- Reconcile credit card statements, track client invoices and support expense management and reporting
- Support meeting preparation: room booking, agenda materials, tech setup, etc.
Corporate Communications Support
- Manage project timelines and workflows via Monday.com
- Coordinate with external vendors (e.g., venues, printers, A/V)
- Produce, revise and format PowerPoint decks with SmartArt, icons and layout polish
- Create and manage client and firm newsletters (Mailchimp):
- Upload content and blog posts
- Maintain mailing lists
- Analyze performance metrics
- Design simple social media graphics (Canva)
- Manage Coast’s social media accounts (editorial calendar, posting, moderation)
- Oversee Google Ads campaigns and updates
- Update the firm website (Shopify platform)
- Be available to work some evenings and weekends in the event of a client crisis
Research + Media Coordination
- Build and update media lists and stakeholder lists (Excel)
- Complete media monitoring scans/reports using Critical Mention and other tools (client-facing and internal)
- Assist with media pitching, tracking and coordination
- Conduct background research to support new business development and PR strategy
- Track media outlets and political developments relevant to our clients
Requirements
- Minimum one year paid experience in corporate communications, PR or a in a field providing professional services
- Demonstrated interest in current affairs, news and B.C./Canadian politics
- Highly organized with excellent time management and multitasking skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Experience with digital tools (Mailchimp, Canva, Google Analytics, Shopify)
- Advanced copy editing skills and familiarity with the CP Style Guide
- Post-secondary education in liberal arts, political science, PR, communications, journalism, business or a related field
