Status Update as of March 27, 4:00 PM PST:
  •  67 new positive tests in B.C., 792 positive total cases in B.C.
  •  73 people are in hospital, 2 additional deaths and 275 have fully recovered and are released from isolation

 

Recent Government Announcements:

Federal

  • Prime Minister Trudeau announced further support for small-medium sized business owners during the COVID-19 pandemic including:
Province of B.C.
  • Today, B.C. became the first Province to release its modelling information on COVID-19
  • B.C.'s data-driven modelling showed that B.C.'s rate growth is being positively impacted by physical distancing and public health measures adopted over the past few weeks
  • The modelling reflected B.C.'s trajectory as similar to that of South Korea's, not Italy's
  • The model showed British Columbians that there is enough ventilators, with over 1270, to reasonably handle the B.C. COVID-19 epidemic at its peak, even if it simulates that of Hubei's
City of Vancouver
  • Some Vancouver community centres are beginning to re-open as shelters for Vancouver's homeless community, supporting physical distancing efforts and minimizing the spread of COVID-19
